[ + ] How does virtual support work?

Questions arise after an appointment. New concerns pop up. Often, these questions or concerns can be answered without a formal appointment. Many of these can be addressed in a few quick texts, some require a brief phone call to ensure understanding, and if that’s not enough, a virtual visit can be arranged at Dr. Wofford’s discretion.

[ + ] When will virtual support be offered?

Dr. Wofford is a human like everyone else, so she needs to sleep and to care for her own family. Urgent messages will be answered between the hours of 8am and 8pm. Non-urgent messages will be answered the next business day. This affords you the convenience of messaging Dr. Wofford when it is best for you, and allows Dr. Wofford to respond in a reasonable timeframe to everyone’s concerns. For true emergencies, you should call 911. If you’re not sure if it is a true emergency, and have not heard back from Dr. Wofford within 30 minutes, call 911.

[ + ] What if I need medical care when I’m away from home?

Dr. Wofford can care for you even when you are traveling. Sometimes you will need in-person medical attention, however, many illnesses can be diagnosed and treated after a conversation by phone, email, text, or video. Dr. Wofford will assess your situation and advise whether you need to find prompt in-person medical services.

[ + ] What do I do if I need medical care when Dr. Wofford is sick or on vacation?

Dr. Wofford will provide ample advance notice for planned time off. This will ensure time to schedule routine care and/or complete medication refills. Virtual support will still be available during these times. In the case of Dr. Wofford’s absence due to illness or family emergency, you will be notified as soon as possible.
